Getting to Kaunas

BY PLANE

Direct Ryanair and Wizz Air flights to Kaunas are available from 17 European airports – you can check schedules and changes www.kaunas-airport.lt. Bus No. 29 connects Kaunas International Airport with the city centre. The journey takes about 45 minutes with the bus timetable being coordinated with flight schedules. There are also busses from Kaunas International Airport to Vilnius, Klaipėda, Riga and Minsk

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

Kaunas can be reached easily by train from both Lithuanian and international cities (a new route Kaunas – Bialystok, Poland). The railway station is in a convenient location as it takes barely 15 minutes on foot to reach the central city street (Laisvės Alėja; Liberty Avenue). BY CAR

Lithuania has a well developed network of roads. There are two European Highways, with branch lines, Via Baltica (Helsinki – Warsaw, part of the E67 Highway that runs to Warsaw and Prague) and West – East (Klaipeda – Moscow). The traffic is right hand in Lithuania

– 50 km/h in townships – 80 km/h outside the townships – 100/110/130 km/h on a highway according to a road type and season

PARKING IN KAUNAS

Parking on pavement is forbidden unless the signs tell otherwise. Parking usually is paid, you can pay in the nearest parking automaton. The payment value depends on the parking lot place
